During prime months, this river is friendly to even beginning fly fishers. Novice and intermediate anglers will have success all year long. Experienced anglers will put up numbers unheard of. Catches of twenty fish, over 24 inches, in a day are not uncommon. Due to the size of fish, five and six weight rods are required. Most fish are caught sub-surface but dry fly bites do happen. This a wade only fishery. Water temps preclude wet wading for all but the burliest fisherman.
